What should a good camera phone offer?

Many people orient themselves when buying a camera phone primarily on one value: the resolution. The resolution is given in megapixels, or MP for short, and is decisive for the richness of detail in the photos. For entry-level and mid-range phones, 12 MP is the standard resolution. This value is already sufficient for simple photos in optimal lighting conditions. However, if you only want to use a section of the picture afterwards or print your vacation photos on canvas in a large format, you should use a cell phone with a higher-resolution camera.

By the way, it’s also worth taking a look at the resolution of the front camera if you like to take selfies while traveling. In most models, it is significantly lower than the resolution of the rear camera. Here you can find a list of suitable camera phones with a correspondingly high resolution.

The sensors of the cell phone camera and other quality features

Also the sensors used in a cell phone camera affect the quality of the vacation photos substantially. This is especially true when a high-quality lens is also installed. In the meantime CMOS sensors belong to the standard in good camera mobile phones. Especially on longer trips, it is not uncommon to take a large number of souvenir photos and perhaps even shoot a video or two on vacation. This requires storage space on your smartphone.

Therefore, the available device memory should also be a criterion for the selection of suitable models during the purchase process. However, the device memory does not necessarily have to be particularly large. It makes more sense if there is a possibility to expand the memory by using an SD card. This can be exchanged if necessary during the journey, so that one has still more memory for the own vacation pictures available.
