Cuba – a real paradise for hiking lovers! Word has long since spread among hikers and nature lovers: Cuba has not only enchanting landscapes with an extraordinarily rich flora and fauna, but also a very varied topography.

Although tourism in Cuba has developed a lot during the last years, the beauties of Cuban nature are still – fortunately – difficult to access. Our group tour Cuba Hiking offers you the unique opportunity to discover three of the most beautiful and at the same time most different regions of Cuba on “Schusters Rappen”.

At the same time you will get to know the most important cities of the country and at the end you can relax at the secluded Playa Maguana in the very east of the country. Cuba Hiking is ideal for those who want to experience Cuba's scenic and cultural diversity in an active, yet relaxing way.

The weather and climate conditions offer the best conditions for the great hiking pleasure. All year round you can expect a lot of sun and there is usually a refreshing breeze blowing from the sea. The ideal time for hiking trips is early October to early May, although from April to mid-November, expect temperatures to top 30 degrees in some areas. Especially in the Topes de Collantes Natural Park you can expect a very pleasant microclimate.

2. Day: Lively Havana

After breakfast, we will be picked up by our guide in the hotel lobby at 09:00 for the historic Old Town walking tour of Cuba's capital city. On foot we explore the colonial Habana Vieja with the most important sights: Palace of the Captains General, Hemingway's favorite bar “Bodeguita del Medio”, El Templete, etc.

The varied program also includes the peculiarities of the architecture of the Spanish colonial rule: magnificent buildings from the heyday of this culture, neoclassical and art deco facades alternate with the Russian-influenced prefabricated construction. We discover the most important and at the same time most curious features of this so famous and infamous city, where we can always feel the morbid charm of this former pearl of the Caribbean in the many small alleys.

After a joint lunch we explore the newer parts of the city during a sightseeing tour in a vintage car. We get to know and love many sights outside the old town, including u.a. the revolutionary square “Plaza de la Revolución”, the diplomatic and villa district Miramar, as well as the magnificent district Vedado. Continue past the famous University of Havana and along Cuba's most famous waterfront promenade, the Malecón. Passing by the once legendary Hotel Nacional, we arrive back at the hotel in the late afternoon.

Evening at leisure. Your tour guide will be happy to give you tips for the Cuban nightlife in the capital city!
